Huskies Lose to Catholics

ND.JPGGoing into last weekend, the Huskies have shown that they can't beat arrogant fly boys or whiny dirty hippies. After Notre Dame trounced them 36-17 on Saturday, you can now add Catholics to that list. However, they do very well against insane weathermen.

The Huskies played a strong defensive game in the first two quarters, trailing only 12-3 at the half. On the other side of the ball, the offense repeatedly gave up key turnovers inside the ten, blowing chances to keep the game close, and sending a demoralized defense back onto the field.

After halftime the Irish got their offense rolling and scored 24 second half points on a tiring Washington defense.

Seattlest representatives tried to will the Huskies to victory, but our cheers of “Stem Cell Research,” and "Win one for Martin Luther," were no match for the loud and hyped-up Irish fans who had actual football related results to cheer about.

The game was Tyrone Willingham's first against his old team since being fired by Notre Dame last winter. This aspect of the match up garnered much of the attention, taking away from the other story lines, such as…the Irish have a new coach. On the bright side, the game was a sell out, and it was a lovely day.

Next up the Huskies will play UCLA in Pasadena , where they will no doubt visit Vroman's Bookstore, spend some time hiking in the San Gabriel Mountains, and lose to the Bruins.
