Pretty Hate Portastatic

ipodnano.gifIf you are between the ages of 28 and 40 and you like your indie rock, you are probably very excited about the Portastatic show this evening at the Crocodile. This band is fronted by Mac from Superchunk. If these names mean nothing to you, then you might want to see them because they have some really cute pop songs (and if circa 2003 indie cred means anything to you, they opened up for Rilo Kiley).

Nine Inch Nails is playing with the Queens of the Stone Age and Autolux at the Key Arena. Our first ever stadium concert was a NIN show. We were a little scared but were also delighted that you could buy chicken fingers while you listened to music. That said, ole Trent puts on one heckuva spectacle (not enough of one, however, to tear us away from our wide array of dipping sauces).

You could also check out the New Pornographers and Destroyer at the Showbox on Saturday. Personally we can not recommend them. We find their music overly cute and a little too syrup-y. Granted, we may be a little cranky cause someone in the office made a joke about Lotus Notes versus Microsoft Exchange. Nothing is less funny or more irritating than email server humor, not even Gallagher or Port of Seattle commissioner Paige Miller's dog commercials.
