How Long Has This Been Going On?
It's difficult to be bleeding edge all the time. Sometimes by the time Seattlest gets around to posting an item, we suspect maybe it's long ago scabbed over and there's just that faint white line and memories of itchiness.
However, in the hope that there are people out there (probably pressing Next Program on their 8-Track player) who haven't heard about their local video store's online database, here goes. Take Control Video has put together an interface ("put together" about captures the UI quality, but you take what you get) that allows you to check on your local store's inventory before you head out of doors. As we approach the time of the great gray wet blanket in Seattle, that can come in handy.
If your store is hep to the customer service angle, you can even reserve titles during the day and pick them up at your leisure. (Like Kozmo.com, but without the thrill of a sweaty, toned bike messenger outside your door. Sigh.) There are also eCoupons just for internet denizens. Without further ado, here are the local suspects on the Take Control bandwagon:
Broadway Market Video - Seattle, WA Island Video - Seattle, WA
On 15th Video - Seattle, WA
Rain City Video - Seattle, WA
Silver Screen Video - Bainbridge Island, WA
Video Isle - Seattle, WA
Local heavyweight Scarecrow Video, of course, has its own site all set up, but so far does not permit online reservations.
