Toy-Night In Belltown
So it's Friday, and Seattlest is in the mood for stuffed plush whimsy. It's just been that kind of week, hasn't it?
Which is lucky, because the Belltown boutique Schmancy (sister to Fancy and Pants, who share a blog) is presenting an exhibit of San Francisco artist Lisa Congdon's work: plush birds, shadowboxes, and paintings. She also runs the blog bird in the hand (an earlier incarnation lives here).
Tonight's art exhibit is a bit of a blow-out because it also commemorates Schmancy's one-year anniversary (there will be a birthday cake) and the grand opening of Pants. The show is from 6 to 9pm this evening, and features a live appearance by the artist herself, all the way from our sister city to the south. The address is 1930 2nd Ave. If you absolutely can't make it there tonight, you can still make plans: Congdon's art will be up for September.
