This Weekend in Live Music
If you weren't mortally wounded from the bitter Oasis/Blur feud that tore our country apart in the mid-nineties, then check out Oasis tonight at the Everett Events Center. As of the last time that we checked craigslist, tickets can be had pretty cheap. Personally we like both Oasis and Blur, but we always did consider ourselves to be the Switzerland of rock fans.
Tomorrow night, Keith Urban is playing at the Gorge. We are not the biggest Keith Urban fans here at Seattlest HQ, but he is apparently very popular and hunky (if you like that sort of thing). So if you want your country loud, arena-y and with stunning blond highlights then head on to the Gorge.
Quite frankly tomorrow night, there is no better entertainment to be had anywhere in the Pacific Northwest (unless you see 'The Man'), than the Megadeth/Dillinger Escape Plan/Life of Agony show at the White River Amphitheatre. Significant amounts of our formative years were spent listening to Megadeth. Sure, we could have been 'reading' or 'learning something', but we'd rather listen to 'Architecture of Aggression.'
On Sunday, Jedi Mind Tricks bring some down and dirty hip-hop to Neumos. We like them since they make us nostalgic for Wu-Tang, though we wonder if the crappiness of the most recent Star Wars trilogy makes them regret their name choice.
If you feel like staying in this evening, you could watch the TV hurricane benefit tonight, but after Kanye-gate, you can be assured it will be really dull.
