M's Juiced--And Yet They Still Suck!

gemmy_muscleman_costume.jpgMariners shortstop/outfielder Michael Morse (not pictured at right) today became the third Mariner suspended for steroid use. Morse admits to using steroids only once, in 2003 when rehabbing an injury. He "was scared."

Morse contends that the positive result is from a remnant of this one-time experimentation. If you believe that, then you, too, would trust a show-jumping judge to lead a major government agency.

No team has had more players suspended for steroid use. But despite being the cheating-est team in baseball, the Mariners are still in last place, 17.5 games behind the Angels, on pace to lose 90 games for the second year in a row. Where would they be if they weren't juiced? The mind boggles.
