One CAN Live on House Music Alone

mini-177645568_l.jpgFor those of you not busy packing up to go frolic on the playa, this weekend is a throwback to weekends past, as you have an opportunity to pull of the house music hat trick. Each will have a unique experience, so even if you hit all three, you won't be bored.

Tonight at the War Room is Johnny Fiasco, coming to Seattle by way of Chicago. His sets can be a bit hit-or-miss, but on a good night, Fiasco ranks up there with some of Chicago's best. With opening sets by Jon Lemmon and Marty Mar, it's a good chance to hear some of the better locals as well. The War Room has shaped up to be the club destination of the summer, so even if the music isn't grabbing you, securing a spot on the roof should be enough motivation for an outing.

Trinity has also been gaining its footing over the last few months, and has been bringing a lot of house music's heavy hitters to town (and to Pioneer Square to boot). This weekend is no exception, with Uniting Souls (http://www.unitingsouls.com) bringing Joey Youngman for his Seattle debut Saturday night. Where Johnny Fiasco will bring us Chicago-style house, Youngman's catalog is a little more on the techy side, which is a nice change of pace.

Sunday is of course Rebar, but you already know that.
