Seattlest’s favorite Capitol Hill bar the Bad JuJu Lounge will soon leave its current location on 11th Ave and fold in to its sister venue Neumo’s as Marcus Charles, owner of both establishments, makes the probably prudent move of consolidating his no-doubt expensive empire (props to trusty bar keep Jeff for filling us in on the details). The Bad JuJu’s scary, Klingon-weapon-looking metal sculptures, once perilously placed above the heads of patrons, are already, as of last Friday, gone from their pillars, and Seattlest’s team of investigative reporters has so far failed to confirm the fate of the resident boa constrictor permanently on display in the aquarium behind the bar.
While Seattlest loves Neumos -– we had a blast there at last year’s final GBV show – we’re really going to miss the stumbling drunkard proximity to our apartment and the sick heavy metal/voodoo atmosphere of the JuJu’s spacious 4000 square feet of old school coolness. Back when we had more free time before the dark times of the second Bush Junta, we’d often hit the JuJu at least three times a week if not more. We got to know a few of the regulars, entertained our blind internet dates, enjoyed countless games of cheap pool (as opposed to the ridiculous $11-$14/hour they charge you at the Garage a few blocks away), and even crashed a party at their private upstairs venue one time for no reason and got bitched at by the meat-neck brother of the birthday boy we didn’t know. We once saw this chick, who must have been from the goth dance club next door, who had these tiger stripe tattoos on her face with these long thin metal whiskers sticking out of her pierced cheeks, all Hellraiser style. Bad JuJu RIP.

What, no link via "Bush Junta"?
Not Bush Junta or Bush Junta or Bush Junta or even Bush Junta?
I'm disappointed.
Juju's last day at the current location is Saturday the 27th and artwork currently missing from the Juju is already being installed in the new location. On September 2nd renovations at Neumos will be complete and the Juju will reopen there in the back-bar area with a small stage of it's own and food from Frites. The setup will be similar to The Showbox and Green Room.
Still no word on the snake.
