Go Dutch at Marymoor

Seattlest once had the delight of visiting the Kroller-Muller Museum in the Netherlands. The museum sits deep inside a national park, and to get there you pick up a free white bicycle at the perimeter and trundle on in. The white bikes are all kind of goofy and socialist-utopian and awesome.

Find out if it can work here! This Wednesday, King County Parks kicks off a "Blue Bike" program at Marymoor. It sounds a little bit more restricted--riders will have to swipe the bikes in and out with some sort of key card--but the spirit is certainly lovely.

Wednesday's schedule includes all sorts of kickoff hoohah from 3-4 (think balloon artists). Bikes will be available starting at 4:15. Velo races start at 7:30. And if you really want to see the bike theme through, catch Breaking Away at the park at 9:15. We heart Cutters.
