Seattle Market: Sophomore Slump
Seattlest's newest feature enters its second week with this installment, which makes it the most successful new feature launch in recent memory. Make sure to tune in next Tuesday as the drama unfolds: Will Seattle Market actually play three weeks in a row and become the longest running series in the history of Seattlest, or will it peter out after this lackluster performance?
You decide. First, the name sucks so if you've got a better one we'd love to hear it. Also, if you think you have a good or service for sale on Craigslist that might be a fit for Seattle Market, let us know. We're looking for items that are really cool, very characteristic of Seattle, or just weird.
On to the weird:
Item 1: gardenburgers
Dont care for this brand, prefer Bocca Burgers. I have opened the box and used 7 patties, but there are 10 left. I would hate to toss them out because they are still good to use. They are in the box in my freezer and frozed HARD!If you would like them please email me and we can set up a time for them to be picked up today!
Thanks!
We hope the fact that these delectable frozen patties are listed with no dollar value indicates "market price" rather than "free," because we have attempted to give away random crap in the past via Craigslist and witnessed firsthand how difficult it can be to coordinate with someone who just doesn't care. It's free, right? Why bother showing up at the appointed time? Our random crap actually still sits in the corner of our living room, just as this seller's surely still clutters up the freezer. Don't let this culinary delight pass you by!
Item 2: Free Dissident Magazines
The following are in three-hole punched and in three-ring binders -- twenty-six binders in all:50 Years Is Enough: 5/99 - 4/03
Auto-Free Times: Spring '97 - Fall '01
Bank Check Quarterly: 09/90 - 06/97
Black Flag: Autumn '94 - Autumn '99

Washington Free Press: 8/95 - 6/03
Z Magazine: 2/95 - 12/00
The following are loose:Anderson Valley Advertiser: 6/97 - present
Monthly Review: 9/96 - present
The only thing that stops Seattlest from jumping on this ourselves is the firestorm 26 three-ring binders are likely to create on the domestic front. But wait! Now we reveal what we hold in our other hand: dinner, in the form of 10 frozen veggie burgers from some random person's freezer! Seriously, go get these magazines and email Seattlest - We want to come over and have a look. We'll bring a 12-pack.
Item 3: 500 Gallon in ground Oil Tank PRICE REDUCED! store anything! - $50
Was used to hold oil for heat but you can use it to store anything now. Outside is of course rusty but the metal is very solid and sturdy with no rust out or thin walls. Use it to store fluids or use it as an in-ground storage tank to store heating oil (imagine that;-). $50 OBO.
This gigantic rusty drum is a steal at only $50, although we're guessing you're not going to get this guy to deliver. The potential uses for this item are practically one. This item is not restricted to property-owners looking to store heating oil. We encourage renters to envision this tank half-assedly buried in the yard. Isn't there a provision in your lease for property improvement?
Make sure to check out last week's Seattle Market.
