Taking Passive-Aggressive to a New Level

pennies.jpg
If there's one stereotype of Seattleites that can cut too close to home, it's that we're all passive-aggressive. Are you really being polite if you wave the person ahead of you on...while glaring at them the whole time? Do the people at the pea-patch plot next to yours really need to point out that they have a different style of pruning? Does your building manager need to post notices in the mailroom that apply only to the guy in 5A? A little bit of NYC-style confrontation can trump a whole lot of glaring.

Well, one Seattleite has done us all proud. An unnamed Seattle man was stopped for speeding in Moorhead, Minnesota. The fine for doing 70 in a 55 was $120. Dude shows up at the courthouse with...12,000 pennies. That'll really show the...poor county clerk who has to count the change. Yeah, she'll get right on changing the speeding laws for you. Good job.

Good ol' Midwesterners. They took the pennies to the bank to be counted--and made the guy wait until the transaction was complete.

Seattle, represent!
