News From the World of Drugs (Formerly the World of Sports)
One day after legendary hitter Rafael Palmiero was suspended for steroid use, ESPN reports this morning that Mariners starting pitcher Ryan Franklin is suspended 10 days for the same thing.
To our minds, the suspension of Franklin, a wisp of a righthander, shows just how prevalent steroids are in baseball. If a slender player like Franklin takes them, who doesn't?
In other drugs news, former Seahawks receiver Koren Robinson checked himself into rehab. Last month Robinson showed up to the King County Jail, where he was to serve a one-day DWI sentence, drunk. Nice work, Koren. Way to dance with who brung ya.
We've had enough. No more drugs posts--no matter how many Seattle atheletes get busted. So, tomorrow, when it crosses the wire that the Storm have signed Courtney Love, you won't read about it here.
