Seattlest Wears Comfortable Shoes to Flammable

mini-b_loyns_b.jpgIf your Sunday agenda included nothing but complaining about how The Simpsons is past its prime or wondering how Desperate Housewives' Eva Longoria was snubbed for yet another award, it's time for a change of plans. This Sunday night, and every Sunday from now on, you should take yourself a quick nap and head out to Rebar for Flammable, Seattle's longest running house music night.

The rules are simple: leave your attitude at the door and keep your shirt on. Whether you're a house-head or someone just out to have a good time, Flammable's smiling crowd, helpful bar staff, and brand of happy, sunshine-friendly west coast house is just the way to ease yourself into another week of working for The Man. The crowd doesn't peak until just before 1am, and despite the impending workday there is always a healthy (and sweaty) crowd there to applaud the DJ at the evening's end. The music is amazingly consistent week after week, a testament to both resident DJ Brian Lyons and the local and national talent he's brought to the night over the last nine years.

Flammable can be a bit imposing for the uninitiated with its largely regular crowd. Don't worry, the vibe is infectious, providing even wallflowers a venue for ass-shaking. So put down the chips, get off the couch, and head to Rebar (the chips will wait for you to get back). It's definitely worth staying up late on a school night.
