Keep Clam, Or Auction It On Ebay?

We heard about a gigantic clam for sale over at eBay recently and thought maybe we could throw it on the grill to serve some out of town guests at Chez Seattlest. Turns out it's not that type of clam. And it cost someone $1,626.

Dan McAuliffe was the lucky, uh, winner of the auction and is now in possession of one 12' x 12' x 7' Ivar's promotional clam. This sounds like an item MOHAI should have for safekeeping, but instead it will reside in McAuliffe's Clearview Nursery as a lighted water fountain along with other un-named oddities.

Seattlest focused our finely tuned interneting skills on eBay and dug up the auction page for you. Notice that there were 72 bids for this completely ridiculous item. We also found this related auction for a somewhat more diminutive piece of Ivarsiana that is still accepting bids.
