Get Intimate with Seattlest
We at Seattlest know that all of you, dear faithful readers, are just dying to meet us in persons. So for the first time ever, we shall emerge from our blogospheric ivory tower to interact with the rabble. Next Friday, July 29th, Seattlest will be at the Northwest Film Forum for the opening night screening(s) of Intimate Stories, and you can join us for free!
Here's how to hook yourself up with tickets compliments of Seattlest:
Send an email to adam@nwfilmforum.org with "Seattlest" as the subject. He'll reply confirming that, yes, NWFF and Seattlest both love you, and you're in. Do it now, though, as NWFF is only going to give away so many tickets.
From NWFF:
Experience the dreamy rhythms of small-town life in this lighter-than-air road movie...Intimate Stories (a.k.a. Minimal Stories)
(Carlos Sorin, Argentina, 2003, 35mm, 92min)
A delightful trio of crisscrossing stories about three inhabitants of a small Argentine village who set off for the city: An old man travels in search of his long-lost dog, a young mother wins a spot on a nationally televised game show, and a love-struck traveling salesman tries to woo the woman of his dreams with the most perfect cake ever devised. This lighter-than-air SIFF '03 favorite (where it played as MINIMAL STORIES) captures the dreamy rhythms of small-town life with a set of stories in which, for all their humor, observation and emotion, nothing much really happens. In Spanish with English subtitles.Playing July 29-Aug 4, Fri-Thurs at 7:15, 9pm
Based on the above, the film sounds promising, especially given that it has elsewhere garnered a 95% fresh rating. NWFF is only giving out so many tickets, so if they run out before you get your email in, stop by the NWFF anyway next Friday night to give Seattlest a holla. We do so love the adoration of our public.
