The Mariners finally found a taker for Bret Boone, minutes before yesterday's 11am deadline to trade or release him.
Boone goes to the Minnesota Twins, in exchange for a player to be named later.
The Twins also get an unspecified amount of cash in the deal, which means that there are 28 major league teams that quite literally would not take Bret Boone if you paid them.
Minnesota has had a revolving door at second base this season, and look to Boone to add stability. Seattlest, however, worries that Boone's drastically diminished fielding range at second base will spell disaster at the Metrodome, where groundballs travel rapidly over the stadium's artificial turf.

It was sad that the Mariners cut him, but wasn't his crying just a bit too much?
