With a Little Help from His Friends, Ladybug Guy Makes Rent

Seattlest has been tracking the Ladybug Guy saga feverishly for, like, a long time.

But maybe you're new here! In that case, try this Seattlest Saga-in-a-Snapshot(TM): Buddy Foley is the guy who sells ladybugs for $5/bag on 15th Avenue West to help make ends meet.

As our story opens, the ends weren't, in fact, meeting. The 60-year-old musician and artist (who was in a band that opened for the Beatles when they played Portland, if you were wondering about the headline) was being evicted from his studio for non-payment of rent. A series of operations had left him savings-free and cash-poor.

Now, as the Seattle P-I reports, some friends (Arts Brewery) have stepped up to pay his current rent, while another is handling the back rent.

Finally Seattlest can heave a sigh of relief. It's not that easy to find a bag of 100 ladybugs, you know. Try it sometime. You'll appreciate this narrowly averted catastrophe all the more.
