Capitol Hill Arms Race

rocketlauncher.jpgSeattle police got a tip from a security officer at a Capitol Hill fast food restaraunt yesterday that a vehicle in the eatery's parking lot appeared to contain a weapon. When police arrived they indeed found a weapon in the, then abandoned, automobile. Not a knife. Not a handgun. Not a shotgun. A rocket launcher.

Seattlest thinks Capitol Hill is generally pretty mild in terms of the violence, but hey, you never know what situations will arise that will require deadly force to protect the lives of you and yours, right? Better to have a rocket launcher and not need it than need it and not have it.

The weapon was confiscated by police, but apparently it is not against the law to have an unloaded rocket launcher. The police were not able to make contact with the launcher's owner.
