Showdogs: The Final Countdown

Previously on Showdog Moms and Dads: Seattle's own Brandon and Ryan kept everyone at the B&B up all night with their arguing. Then they decided to skip the dog show and go shopping.

We didn't see so much of our local faves this week as they recused themselves (and their yappy little dog, Liberace) from the Philly Dog Show in order to hit the town. The only memorable scene (and one that we'd bet $10 was set up and/or suggested by the producers) involved getting Liberace and Daisy (his chihuahua sibling) to run up the "Rocky" stairs at the Art Museum. Back at the bed-and-breakfast, Brandon showed his bully side (again) as he engaged in a cake fight with ten-year-old Adam. What started as playful and goofy ended with Brandon picking up the entire cake and smashing it in Adam's face. Adam was having fun, but it creeped us out.

In other Showdog news: Connie and George got a little too upset about Kyra's "back injury." Moira helped her dog Scooter give birth to six puppies, which they named after their fellow Showdog Moms & Dads, taking care to get one last Kyra jab in by naming the runt after her. Kyra seemed blissfully oblivious to being the brunt of everyone's hatred. Sweet childless Lourdes said farewell to Adam by tapping him on the nose over fifty times.

There are no scenes from next week, as this was the finale. The show concluded with Animal House-like "where are they now" captions; the funniest--and least surprising--were the ones detailing the number of times that Brandon and Ryan have broken up and gotten back together since the climactic dog show. We'll miss those crazy guys.

Ryan's feather-boas-for-dogs business is on the web here...or you can visit his store on Capitol Hill.
