Seattlest is always happy to hear about a local making headlines -- even if the circumstances might make us a little bit queasy. The latest local record-setter is fisherman Brian Harber, who recently became the first person to finish off the $13, 2 pound "Alaskan Pride Challenge Burger" at Juneau's Northlander Grill.
Harber had to eat the burger within 45 minutes to get it for free. He defeated the big burger with one minute to spare. Thirty challengers before Harber had tried and failed.
Harber, a 6-foot-6, 225-pound commercial fisherman, was in port celebrating having caught a giant skillfish this week.
While it might not be in quite the same league as the jaw-dropping (and nausea-inducing) battle between a 100lb girl and an 11-lb burger from earlier in the year, it's still an impressive feat, and one that Seattlest is in no hurry to try to match.
Congratulations, Brian!

Its actually a 100lb woman vs. a SIX lb burger, not 11 lb.
The burger is 11 pounds: 6 lbs of meat + 5 lbs of fixins.
