Baseball Swag Schedule

Seattlest once had a choice between Saturday and Sunday Mets games, and we chose Saturday because the schedule read "Free Mets Jersey Day." We thought to ourselves, "Score!" It will likely surprise no reader that the "jersey" in question was a thin t-shirt with jersey styling (v-neck, buttons down the front) printed on it. We laughed and laughed. And we still wear the shirt.
It never hurts to check the promotions calendar before heading to the ballpark. Here are some highlights among the upcoming promotions for our local baseball teams:
We all missed out on Edgar statues, which were handed out at Safeco Field on May 3. (They'll hand out Jay Buhner statues on the 31st and Ken Griffey Jr. statues on June 21.) We'll try to hit Ichiro Nesting Doll night (June 3) and 1995 Retro Cap Night (July 1), even though the idea that "retro" means 1995 makes us giggle.
Up north, the Everett Aquasox focus their promotions on the kids, mostly (those bastards!), but they will give out baseball caps on July 30 and August 25 as well as "Glowing Baseballs" on August 31.
Down south, the Tacoma Rainiers will hand out t-shirts on July 2, "Tacoma Public Utilities Bronzed Statues" on July 30, and "Emerald Queen Casino Throwback Baseball Caps" on July 31. We'll give some sort of special prize to the person who brings us back anything from these Rainiers games.
