Kerry Back in Seattle
Former anybody but Bush candidate Senator John Kerry is in town raising money, hosting forums and generally bringing…it…on.
This morning Kerry is hosting a town hall forum with Senator Patty Murray regarding his Kids First Act legislation, which would use Medicaid to provide health care for children living in poverty.
Last night he attended a fundraiser for the state Democratic Party to help pay for the costs of the on-going legal action following the governor’s election. He appeared with Governor Gregoire and spoke for ten minutes. His speech had little to do with the current situation in Chelan County, rather it was mostly an attack on the Republican Party.
Gregoire, who also spoke, didn’t make much mention of the trial and instead focused on the recently completed legislative session. She did, however, thank Kerry for his $250,000 donation last fall, which helped pay for the recount that eventually lead to Gregoire’s victory.
Kerry has not announced if he will run again in 2008, claiming that is was “too early.” If he does you can expect to see much more of him, along with other candidates as they look for support in heavily Democratic Seattle.
