What: The Attic, Alehouse & Eatery
When: Wed, 4/20, 9pm
There’s nothing better than getting pissed on beer and soaking up the alcohol in your belly with some nice, greasy bar food. The Attic, a 50+ year establishment in Madison Park with 20 different beers on tap, is just the place to do this. Worn-in and comfy, this pub is also the perfect place to watch sports on about a gazillion different TV screens.
The waistaff the night we came looked like 20 year old frat boys, and though they screwed up our orders (there were four of us!) they had a sense of humor about it and most importantly, served the food up real quick.
Friends have described this place as having, “really good bar food,” and we have to agree. Stuff’s not overly fried and breaded. In fact, there’s a great mix of traditional greasy stuff (fries, onion rings, GREAT burgers) and some healthier options (huge veggie sandwich, salads). If we had to pick a favorite, it would be the "clutter burger" - good slab of juicy meat covered with bacon, cheese, avocado and other goodies.
4426 E. Madison St. breakfast/brunch/lunch/dinner and outdoor seating. Bar closes at 1am most nights, call for other times. 206-323-3131
[Ed Note: See more about the Attic in our burger vs burger faceoff earlier in the week.]
