Pindeldyboz & Homeless Avenger Sunday
A group from the Pindeldyboz syndicate will be delighting the crowd at The Rendezvous with their witty writings Sunday and you should go because Sean Carman, Shya Scanlon, Louisa Peck, Jami Attenberg, Ryan Boudinot, Whitney Pastorek and Sarah M. Balcomb are all easily findable on the internet.
And isn't that the pinnacle of artistic achievement, really?
This reading is also a great opportunity to check in on Great Guy, homeless superhero and subject of Michael Sanchez's 2003 film "The Return of Great Guy."
In Great Guy's own words:
things were looking good for a while. i was pretty popular. they showed that film on channel 5 TV here and even though i didn't get any money or food for it, it seemed really cool to be a superhero for once. at the 2004 bumbershoot festival held here in seattle i won 2nd place in the stranger's annual talent contest, Pizazz! i thought for sure that would lead to something, but alas, it hasn't. being a superhero sure isn't as great as you might think. lately, you've probably seen me at your local bar even though i shouldn't be there. if my parole officer found out i'd be dead. well, not dead, but you know... back to rehab.
