Dude, We Gotta Be Way Higher Than 10th

The PI published an article yesterday about the rise of large pot growing operations in the state of Washington, particularly Chelan County and there's an identical version in the Seattle Times today. Last summer and fall pot harvests were captured with an estimated street value of $25.6 million in Chelan and Douglas counties.

Seattlest doesn't think they're talking about those three plants you trapsed into Discovery Park to stash and then promptly forgot the location of. We found those, and your strain sucks.

From the PI:

Marijuana has been grown illegally in the region for decades, but the operations were small, with usually one person behind them. Now, the fields are large and use lined irrigation and watering systems, a setup often seen in top pot-growing areas in California and Canada.

Authorities are painting a picture of "a pretty substantial organized crime ring" planting vast fields of irrigated pot in the eastern Cascades surrounded by armed "migrant workers" and landmines. Be careful where you camp - Four of the five large busts last year were found by hikers or hunters.

Washington ranked 28th in the nation in marijuana growing in 1995, but an apparent exudos from northern California and 9/11-inspired increased border sensitivity from British Columbia have led larger growers to start up operations here. Apparently, we've cracked the Top 10 now.

  • But isn't that a Rossi county? I mean the good moral people in the land of red would never grow the devil's herb?
