Chop Suey, It's Your Birthday

The dust on the paper lanterns is three years old this week at Chop Suey and the occasion will, of course, be celebrated. Sub Pop artist and Seattlest fav Helio Sequence has been bought and paid for by KEXP and The Stranger so the show Wednesday is free in honor of the anniversary. Seattlest isn't particularly fond of free events because there's no way to call ahead and buy our way onto a list.

To Seattlest "free" means showing up far in advance of the 8pm doors and standing in the rain freezing our asses off. Well, as far as you need to know that won't be necessary. Come early, but don't bring so many friends that Seattlest gets hassled when we stroll up at nine warm, dry and drunk.

DJ Colby B and Porq of Comeback and Mercir are also scheduled to play for the crowd of drinking-age cheapskates.
