11:30pm girls - Kisaku Sushi Restaurant
What: Kisaku Sushi Restaurant
When: Sun, March 27, 8pm
Nishino has always been our favorite place for sushi in Seattle. But watch out, Big N, we think you have some hard competition now.
The competition comes in the name of Kisaku, nestled in a little part of Seattle called Tangletown. Ryu Nakano, formerly of the I Love Sushi restaurants, is head chef. And he’s done a great job with this place.
We could write down everything we ate, but that would make us hungry and you jealous. Everything we had was top notch, but here are three things we ate that you must order when you go there tonight:
1. Gindara Kasuzuke (flame broiled black cod marinated in sake lees)
2. Sesame Albacore (albacore sashimi marinated in sesame sauce). It tastes like buttah and is as good as our favorite place in the world for albacore tuna--Tsunami Sushi in Vancouver, BC.
3. Caterpillar Roll--avocado, eel and cucumber--sounds basic, but would you describe something that pretty (see pic) as basic?
An added treat: every Sunday a live acoustic guitarist (Klaus Lendzian) provides smooth music to mellow out to while you gobble up the delicious food that the friendly waistaff serves up. The rest of the week you just have to make due with incredibly good food. Darn.
Oh, and their website is utterly charming.
