So Much Music This Weekend

Man, oh man there is some good live music this weekend.
We don't know anything about them, but the band with perhaps the least internet-friendly name in history, Porn is playing at El Corazon this evening.
After buying your 'concert outfit' at the Hot Topic you could head over tomorrow night to the Everett Events Center and check out the Used and My Chemical Romance. The Used are, perhaps, the most famous for their lead singer's appearance on The Osbournes as Kelly Osbourne's suitor, so we automatically feel sorry for him. My Chemical Romance are like Joy Division minus the talent and with better videos. We recommend this show only because we like this quote from the My Chemical Romance website. "Check out MCR's new iTunes playlist (it's actually Mikey's but they tagged it as MCR). Everything from The Doves to Helloween. Ya can't get much more wide than that, peeps. Click here to check it out." Peeps! Ha! We wonder if major labels have a website style dictionary that says say peeps instead of people and yer instead of your.
Neil Diamond tribute band Super Diamond is playing the Showbox tonight. Their publicist's website describes them as :
Prepare yourself for an amazing showcase that pays tribute to over thirty years of solid gold hits from an American icon - Neil Diamond. A Super Diamond show is pure entertainment - classic music combined with fun, energy and passion - creating nostalgia for the good old days and excitement for today's generation!
We feel this show will appeal to today's generation(!) which is obviously lacking 'fun, energy and passion.'
Lou Barlow is playing tonight at the Sunset Tavern. Lou Barlow was a member of two legendary indie bands, Dinosaur Jr. and Sebadoh. We are not a member of even one legendary indie band, so we figure by going to the show, Lou's two to our zero averages out to be one. Rock and Roll! He has a new sad and pretty solo album that includes an acoustic cover of RATT's "Round and Round."
The kings of slowcore, Low, are playing at Neumo's tonight. Their new album is more poppy than the rest, but we still like it. Their live shows are hit or miss, but if you are so inclined, stop on buy. Nothing will get you ready for the upcoming rain like some slowcore.
On Sunday, we recommend staying inside, sipping some tea and perhaps reading a book.
