11:30pm girls - Cascadia Restaurant

Who are the 11:30pm girls?

What: Cascadia Restaurant
When: Thurs, March 24, 7:30pm

Expectations for this place were high. Look at the reviews!
"exquisite food, beautifully presented"
5 star rating
"elegant, understated space"

The food was great, and it was beautifully presented. We'd come back on any of the following occasions:
1. need to impress business clients with fancy dinner (not going to happen in our line of work)
2. grandparents in town (sadly, its too late for this)
3. prom (too old)

But we can't see ourselves coming back just for the hell of it. This place had a "curious to try, not compelled to return" feel for us.

However, Cascadia is currently taking part in 25 for $25, where a slew of Seattle restaurants are offering special menus for just 25 bucks (usually not including drinks) for the month of March.

That's why we went and that's why you should go. It's a good deal.

We got a complementary white bean and garbanzo hummus (delish), and then I ordered dillweed + grappa cured salmon to start (yum), spring lamb schnitzel as the entree (...chewy), caramel apple tartin for dessert (tasty, but practically required a steak knife to eat).

Our friend ordered a watercress soup that had a lovely presentation but that she found to be bitter tasting. Our waiter was good, and despite a long wait between app and entree, his descriptions of the preparation of every dish add value to the experience.

Dinner/Closed Sunday, 2328 First Ave., Seattle, 206-448-8884.

Cascadia always has a $25 3 course menu, so if you're looking for a deal, you do have more than a week left.
