Trader Joe's Now Seattle's Hottest Nightspot
How many bags of frozen shrimp scampi must there be in the freezer of an active single who shops for food and dates at Trader Joe's? How many pounds of trail mix? Seattlest thinks they could take it a bit easier on their pantries and just become alcoholics like singles have traditionally done.
The Stranger has been keeping us updated on the happenings within the "Trader Joe's Love!" Yahoo group for the past few weeks, but we thought we should mention their get-together this weekend early to give you plenty of time to join the group and get to know some of the players beforehand.
The Yahoo group formed out of a running thread at Craigslist in January and now claims 120 members who rally around the premise of hooking up while grocery shopping. Ain't the internet grand? There's also a email list serving the same topic.
The group is breaking out of the grocery store, though, and has scheduled a meeting at the Wonder Bar in Wallingford for next week. Get on the list now if you want to join the hungry singles for their first official event. The word is that Trader Joe's will be assisting them with snacks and such, which Seattlest thinks is sweet.
