Tuesday is the day that new CD's are released, or as industry execs say 'drop.' (One of our career highlights was being in a meeting with a very high-powered middle-aged record executive who said 'I'm very excited for the new Usher to drop.' We audibly giggled.) That said, tomorrow you can buy the latest album, 'Black Forest' from local band, the A Frames. Ordinarily we like to write our own blurb about music, but instead we will quote from the Amazon.com editorial review.. The band's style is described as 'Angular, angry guitars and bleak, deadpan lyrics march over robotic trashcan beats. Minimalist, propulsive songs about apocalyptic cultural shifts and surveillance strategies.' We applaud the excellent review though we are horrified they used the same words we used on our Bar Mitzvah invitation.
