If the Governor's race taught us anything that there is so such thing as a single county being “Too Blue”. Eastern Washington voters are concerned about their jobs going to China. Wal-Mart crushing their towns, lack of health insurance, their retirement and currency becoming worthless, and their sons being drafted and sent to Iraq. For the few party activists that are concerned I would tell them to go get a copy of What's the Matter with Kansas and move from Ballard to Pasco or Capitol Hill to Spokane and turn it blue.

As a party activist in the Democratic party I disagree.

You know it is possible to be a Democrat and win in Eastern Washington. Jay Inslee use to hold Doc Hastings seat. There are three Washington GOP members of the House. Dave Reichert only won with 51.5003%, Doc Hastings only got 62.5734% and Cathy McMorris only got 59.6811% All three are up for re-election in 2006 and Reichert and McMorris are first termers that will inherit all the fall out of the Bush's 2nd term budget slashes. Now that Jay Inslee sits on the commerce and energy committee Doc Hastings is quite obsolete in serving Handford.

Now that the Democratic party has taken back Montana legislature and Governors mansion we can take back the congressional seats in Eastern Washington. If we can win in Helena we can win in Spokane and Richland.
