Decemberists @ The Showbox

PicaresqueCover.gifWell, it happened. What Seattlest consistantly ridicules others for has fallen on ourselves and we are ticketless for the Decemberists' all-ages show tomorrow night. We should have known that that big piece in The Stranger was bad news and that all-ages tickets go fast. We should have known. If Seattlest were the Decemberists right now we'd work out a ditty about there being no room in steerage for our plagued family.

Inside The Showbox Friday night will be a spectacle from ages past, and Seattlest would not be surprised to find pirates and legionnaires filling the place with black gun powder and opium smoke while the band cavorts on stage. No doubt the masses will be delighted by cuts from the soon-to-be-released Picaresque.

We'll work out a ticket, one way or another. We're trying to avoid going to extreme lengths, but if we have to we'll take our daughter down to the the docks and sell her at one of the markets. For her sake, if you have an extra ticket, Seattlest would love to hear from you.

    It's true. Here's the link.

I assume this puts the Seattle show in serious jeopardy

I have heard from someone in Vancouver that the Decemberists gear was stolen (as happened to McLusky not too long ago) and the Vancouver date was cancelled. Not sure if it's true or if it has any effect on the Seattle show.

Audrey, shut up and give me a ticket.

Thanks for the correction, and Seattlest doesn't want to discuss how it comes to be that we've been listening to it for the past 2 weeks... I do look forward to an actual CD, though.

Dude---tickets were sold out by Tuesday afternoon. That's what you get for resting on your laurels.

Picaresque doesn't come out until next Tuesday, but a bunch of the tracks are available online.
