New York Minute

Seattlest is continually amazed at how many transplanted New Yorkers live here in the Northwest. Their numbers are matched only by the number of Northwesterners who dream of someday moving to the Big Apple. To sate the desires of both groups, and to point out some of the benefits of living in Seattle, we are launching this new feature:
Awesome Things in New York That You Can Find in Seattle vs. Awesome Things Found in Seattle, but Not in New York.
New York and Seattle: Egg Creams
The egg cream is a venerable New York City beverage perfect for a hot summer day. It contains neither eggs or cream. It must, however, contain Fox's U-Bet Chocolate Syrup, manufactured in Brooklyn for a century. They make egg creams the Brooklyn way at Wonder Freeze, next door to Delaurenti's in the Pike Place Market.
Seattle, not New York: Goat Rustlers
Not just a few goat rustlers--but a goat rustling crisis! Goats, apparently, can be worth as much as $10,000, and so there has been a predictable rise in goat-napping, or goat theft, or possibly goat-jacking. The Associated Press reported on Tuesday that state legislators, hoping to reverse this trend, have introduced a bill to increase the penalty for stealing a goat to a maximum of nine months in prison.
