Saturday's Wildly Coincidental Events

Events this past Saturday night had astronomists, seismologists, public utility watchers, and conspiracy theorists well occupied. Seattlest feels bad for those individuals that belong to two or more of those...

mini-3xflyingsaucer.jpgFirst up is the fireball seen in the western sky Saturday night. Witnesses report a blue, slow-moving flame in the sky over the Pacific Ocean. The light show was seen as far east as the Tri-cities and as far south as southern Oregon.

Second, in a reportedly unrelated incident, small earthquakes of 3.3-magnitude were recorded 15 miles north of Olympia.

Finally, a power outage at the Ballard Bridge, Queen Anne, Magnolia, Westlake and 15th Avenue West was due to an incident at the Broad Street substation and not connected to blue, slow-moving flames over the Pacific or the trembling earth down south. No connection whatsoever.

However, local blogger Mike Whybark has posted a handy tool to help you put together the pieces of a vast conspiracy. Thank Mike for the link to the City of Seattle real time emergency dispatch list.
