Sweetest Taboooooo

downtown-seattle.jpgIf you’ve been downtown lately and walked by the Taboo Adult Video on First Ave., you’ve probably noticed that it looks a little different, and well, kinda fancy. And if you were to go inside--y’know, just to ask directions to the nearest Tully’s, certainly not to browse their mammoth DVD collection--you’d see that the store has undergone a complete remodel.

Seattlest spoke with an employee who explained that Taboo is a family-owned business; the family’s younger generation just started to manage the store, which prompted this renovation. They even knocked down a wall, so now the space feels a lot bigger, providing easier access to all that pornography.

For just a $2 lifetime membership fee, you can take advantage of Taboo’s huge VHS/DVD rental library, or for free, browse their wide selection of toys, magazines, lubes and lotions, and sundry novelty items. Also of interest: $2 can get you a used magazine, which the good people at Taboo politely refer to as being “previously enjoyed.” While Seattlest’s first thought was that these porn mags would be disturbingly sticky, we were reassured to learn that the magazines often end up at Taboo after an estate sale, or when a scorned wife really wants to piss off her ex-husband (true story!). So if you’re looking to rent or buy some adult entertainment, or you just wanna peruse some vintage porn, stop by the new and improved Taboo--after all, they’re open 24 hours every day.
