Flickr Seattle - Part II City Skyline
The city of Seattle has got one of the most beautiful skylines in the world. Okay, so we're Seattlest and we're biased, but from experience and a strictly scientific standpoint, Seattle does have the three ingredients that make for a beautiful and interesting skyline--water, mountains, and architecture. A fourth ingredient may be local terrain, which in Seattle is quite hilly. Seattlest agrees that Chicago and New York are cool too--but where are their mountains, huh?! We should mention that our Neighbors to the North ™--Vancouver BC--is a beautiful city with all the ingredients, plus their waterfront is used in a more people friendly way--but that is another post altogether.
Seattle's photogenic qualities are not lost on the throngs of Flickr photogs. Here is a sampling of what the city looks like from afar:

From West Seattle, or Alki, looking across Elliott Bay you get the north-south expanse of downtown. The gold standard view of Seattle, seen on TV's Frazier, is the view from Kerry Park. But there is also downtown from Wallingford. Riding the ferry into town gives an ever changing view. The classic freeway view is from Beacon Hill.
Besides those standard Seattle skyline views, there are many unique looks at the city. From Lower Queen Anne everything is lined up. Magnolia Park makes for a nice vista because it is so high off the water. If you live in Seattle you hardly ever go to the top of the Space Needle, so technically that view is a unique one. From a cruise ship.
Certainly the most oft viewed scene is through a window in the rain (except for lately--what is that glowing orb in the sky!?!).
