Chronic Runaway Busted at Central Library

centralLibrary.jpgSeattlest has mentioned in the past the crime we'd like to be arrested for next time, but we failed to state where we'd like to be apprehended. That location is the downtown Seattle Public Library.

A 13-year-old runaway from Arizona and her 29-year-old boyfriend/legal captor seem to have beat us to the punch, though. The pair was picked up at the library on Sunday after FBI agents tracked them to a computer terminal in the building that they were regularly using. This was the third escape attempt by the couple and to date the most successful: They have been on the run for three months.

From KPHO website in Phoenix:

"I'm just so thankful that she's safe," says her mother.

Al-Bayati got the call from police around 4:30 p.m. Sunday that her missing daughter had been found.

"I'm relieved, especially at that age," says her Al-Bayati.

The FBI picked up the runaway girl at the Seattle Washington public library. We are told she was with her 29-year-old boyfriend Davis Michael Romero.

"He was a friend of the family... I had no idea he was attracted to my daughter," says the girl’s mom.
