If Ever There Were a Man in Need of Arrest

ak47.jpgKeith D. Gilbert, by all accounts the scourge of Roosevelt, was arrested in that neighborhood early Tuesday by federal agents. Gilbert is a famous racist and promotor of some Aryan thing or other who has served time for a previous plot to explode Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., but he's better known in Roosevelt for being a thug landlord and neighbor who repeatedly threatens, sues, and intimidates people in the area.

Gilbert is in federal custody at this moment not for shaking down Roosevelt, racist activities, or being a generally bad man, but on charges relating to selling automatic weapons to a federal agent.

The Orcinus site has an excellent rundown on Gilbert's recent activities as well as his history.

Since those days, Gilbert moved to Seattle and ceased the high-profile activism on behalf of white supremacism. Instead, as this article by Nina Shapiro described in detail in the Seattle Weekly a few years ago, Gilbert has been in the employ of two of Seattle's most notorious landlords, Hugh and Drake Sisley. He's been working as a thuggish enforcer for them.
