Shoegazer's Delight

If there are two bands whose names you want to drop in conversation to bolster your indie cred, you can do a lot worse than My Bloody Valentine or Sonic Youth. After checking our hipster conversion chart, we see that My Bloody Valentine's Loveless or Sonic Youth's Dirty are easily worth their weight in artfully worn vintage t's.

Since MBV and Sonic Youth aren't coming to town, get your fix with Autolux, who successfully channel the spirit of those two indie legends. Their 2004 Future Perfect, produced by the legendary T-Bone Burnett, was one of the best releases of last year. It combined a wall-of-sound guitar wave with some haunting vocals and nicely introspective lyrics.

Come check them out Wednesday night when they play Neumo's. We'll be there. Please don't bother us, we'll be staring at our shoes.
