This Whole Restaurant Is Out Of Order

mini-2002168578.jpgA north Seattle Quizno's restaurant has been struggling to serve its mildly toasted, mildly flavorful sandwiches the last few weeks after it was abandoned by its owner.

Despite the missing proprietor and the suppliers that eventually stopped stocking the store on credit, manager, Dawna Lentz, refused to let the shop die. With little to no desserts, chips or sandwiches available the staff tried to placate the stubbornly returning customers with whatever they could scrape together and sell under the Quiznos name. Lentz made repeated trips to local discount grocers for lunch meat for the staff to toast and serve, but they couldn't avoid hanging 'Out of Order' signs on every fountain drink except Vanilla Coke. Other handmade signs on the front door apprised customers of the situation.

It is too late, however, to go participate in the fun.

After being contacted by reporters, Quiznos representatives inspected the Seattle shop and removed Lentz's handmade signs. Yesterday, the company replenished the food supply and brought in support staff.

Seattlest is disappointed that reporter Shirleen Holt had to alert Quiznos representatives of the situation what seems to be mere moments before the restaurant went all Lord Of the Flies on us.

Seattlest expects one local Quiznos franchisee to be sued heavily by the sandwich company and we look forward to bringing you that story.
