Six More Weeks of...Something

The New York Times reports this morning that we may or may not have six more weeks of winter.
Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow: six more weeks of winter. Meanwhile, upstart New Yorker Staten Island Chuck did not see his shadow, thus forecasting an early spring.
One can argue that Seattle has yet to have any winter at all, although the forecast calls for a rainy weekend.
The whole shadow business has always confused Seattlest. The tradition is explained here; the logic of the whole thing makes our head hurt.
Which reminds us: we get 24 hours of A Christmas Story every year. When, oh when, will the networks wise up and give us repetitive and relentless viewings of Groundhog Day?
