Seattle's Subway Taking Shape
Sound Transit's board voted Thursday to place the Roosevelt station of the proposed North Link light rail line at 12th Avenue Northeast between Northeast 65th and 67th streets. The board has now agreed on the sites for all six stations of the line, which would run from downtown through Capitol Hill and the University District to Northgate.
Don't make any travel plans yet--Sound Transit doesn't have one penny of the $2 billion it needs for construction. If voters approve a tax increase to pay for North Link, it might be operational in 2015. Transit supporters are optimistic that, by 2015, they will own a car.
