Shuffling of the Deck at NAACP

naacp.jpgCarl Mack has announced that he is stepping down from his position atop the Seattle/King County NAACP. Taking the wheel will be his protege lawyer Alfoster Garrett, Jr., who defended Mack from charges stemming from a street protest in 2003. It was Garrett's first case as a criminal attorney.

Seattlest thinks that Alfoster Garrett, Jr. is bound to be less confrontational than Mack was in the position, but hopes that Mack's successes (rapidly expanding membership and increased media attention among others) carry forward under the new administration. Seattlest wishes the best to the new president.
